Our feature in this issue is on self-care and wellness, as it seems many people still don’t really feel it’s important, or it’s a lot of fuss about nothing … that is until they get sick. So we thought we would come up with a few reasons why caring for yourself is important, which includes some good questions you can refer to when you are talking with your doctor. We have also published some more of the latest research on microplastics and forever chemicals in this magazine, both topics that are a bit concerning for many of us. Misdiagnosis is something not too from our awareness either, with some astounding information revealed by the University of Queensland regarding the diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia. Find out about some surprising causes for memory loss too – if you have difficulty remembering things, your mind may make the leap to Alzheimer’s disease, but that’s not the only cause for memory loss. And if you are interested in keeping a healthy mind and body – whatever your age, we have published a 30-year study on the single best diet for ageing in this issue. We are also very pleased to have included an extract from the book Broken Brains by Jamila Rizvi and Rosie Waterland, which should be at the top of your reading list if you are interested in mental health and our healthcare systems. It covers a lot of topics - Jamila working more on interviews and research, and Rosie more from personal experience – overall its very relatable. Lots more in this issue, don’t miss checking it out – we’re still available in print and digital, single issues or one and two year subscriptions.
